I am interested in how assumptions concerning gender and sexuality
shape political struggles as well as the everyday lives of people in
Mexico. My dissertation uses the case of a major Mexican railway
strike in 1959 to ask how political struggles become invested by
people's individual identities, i.e., gender, sexuality, class.
